fix: restore //nolint:ireturn directives swept in by mistake

manual_commit.go and checkpoint/open.go were modified outside this change and accidentally included via git add -A, dropping their //nolint:ireturn directives and breaking CI lint (ireturn). Restore both files to match main; they carry no intended change for this branch.
